Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton escaped the struggles of her life early on thanks to her inventive and innovative imagination. Prior to learning how to read and write Dolly Parton was composing her own songs. Her first guitar was given by her mother when she was eight. She started singing at an Knoxville Tenn station by the age of eleven. In the same year, Gold Band Records was an independent label. Her name was made for herself locally while still in high school but she always dreamed of having a bigger stage. When she graduated from high school in 1964 she immediately moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (both 1967) as well as Something Fishy were among her first Monument Records chart-topping records. At about this time Porter Wagoner was looking for an actress to sing for his syndicated television show. Parton became a member of Grand Ole Opry 1969 after signing to RCA Records. She left Wagoner's show, however, in 1974 because her solo albums such as Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene outsold their collaborations. Parton wrote "I I Will Never Forget You" to Wagoner shortly after they separated. The song was ranked number. The first time it reached No. 1 was 1974.
